I was commissioned to make a poster and title sequence.
Our interpretation explores the relationship between sound and video by displaying simple visuals with haunting and epic sounds.
Sound in video plays an integral part in the directors vision. When sound is removed the piece is incomplete and time is distorted.
The soundscape mixed with black and white forms perfectly illustrate the cold desolate December in Iceland. A feeling of dread and hope with a hint of tropical spaces.

Brenyolver gin branding
Brenyolver is a high quality Icelandic gin. It is based on the classic tradition of gin making combined with Icelandic herbs that are used to bring out a unique flavor. Arctic thyme and angelica seeds give the most flavor along with juniper berries.
Brenyolver (Brynjólfur) was Lord William Watts tour guide on his expedition through Iceland in 1874. Watts was an explorer and visited Iceland several times, where he wrote about the vastness of Icelandic nature describing terrain, strata, animals, plants, people and culture in his book Snioland. We felt it appropriate to name our product Brenyolver as he brought together British tradition and Icelandic nature which was our main goal in the creation of Brenyolver Old Tom Gin building on the classical gin tradition guided through Icelandic botanicals.
Smakk Japan (Taste in Japan) is an Icelandic TV show featuring one of Iceland’s most prolific chef’s Hrefna Sætran. The show illustrates the culinary bond between Iceland and Japan.

Roforofo is a two man band comprised of Omar Gudjonsson & Tommy Baldu. Formed in 2016 and released their first album in 2017. They commissioned me to illustrate and design the cover. Omar wanted something out of the ordinary so we decided to make a poster rather than an ordinary cd sleave. They fit in an ordinary IKEA frame to make thing extra easy
The album is nominated for best rock album and best rock song at the Icelandic music awards.
Beyond Strength (Reynir Sterki) is a documentary by Baldvin Z.
It’s about Reynir, a larger than life character which holds 3 strongman world records.
My job was to animate fantastical stories and create titles and the film poster.

This animation (stop motion) was my graduation piece from Central St. Martins. It was nominated for the 2012 Nova award (The Lowe and Partners award for fresh creative talent) and received a special commendation.
It is a satirical view on the Icelandic educational system. The animation was made on a multilayered trick table and post production is done in After Effects.
The sound design was a collaboration with Oskar Thor Arngrimsson and Julian Martinez Villalba. The music was a collaboration between Oskar Thor Arngrimsson, Julian Martinez Villalba and Baldvin Albertsson.
Illustrations and an animation for Evris in Iceland
Evris is a synonym for two entities: Evris Foundation ses - a non profit private foundation and Evris ehf - a private limited company. Both offers partnership and project management on European, Nordic and EEA Grants projects. Evris ehf also offers assistance in preparing applications with focus on innovation and business development.
Hátíð hafsins (The Festival of the Sea) is an annual festival to honour Icelandic sailors & fishermen.
I redesigned the festival identity in a playful manner. Using signal flags and miniature models made by laser cutting plywood.
Me and my team then hand painted and photographed the finished product to make printed materials.
Her Century is a TV documentary series comprised of 52 x 4min episodes. The documentary was made in honour of women’s 100 year’s of voting in Iceland.
The episodes were shown every week for the whole year in 2015 to celebrate this great event.
The Title Sequence is a journey back in time made with archive footage. The typeface is by designed Phil Baines. Based on research by Brian Coe into how much (or how little) of each letter is needed for legibility.
The type illustrates perfectly the seemingly endless struggle women have faced and still face today.
